MOLLY AND ME

The call from the social worker came completely unexpected before a public holiday. My nerves were on edge, unsure how I would be “baby-ready” in such a short space of time…and then I met you, my Ms. Molly.

My world has been completely turned around, from being a corporate junkie to a devoted mommy to my three month old daughter and I love every minute of this journey. Despite our brief time together, I cannot imagine my life without my Molly. I am honoured and privileged to be a mother to such a precious little girl who laughs easily, hates bathing and enjoys playing at 4am in the morning.

To the kangaroo family who cared for my girl, I cannot thank you enough.  You have opened your hearts and your family to share your love with my daughter.  Your acts of love speak volumes and I understand now why you cried so sincerely when handing her over – she truly is special.

To my daughter’s birth mother, you are a brave woman and I salute you.  Thank you for the gift of motherhood.  I wish you happiness and prosperity.

To the PROCARE team, thank you for sharing this journey with me. You guys have been empathetic and professional in every sense.  From my very first interaction I knew that I was in good hands.

Lastly, thank you to my family who supported me all the way and who embraced Molly as our own from the very first moment – you are awesome.  I will keep an eagle eye on you to make sure that you don’t spoil her too much…

God has blessed me with a precious daughter for which I will be eternally grateful.
